Gestalt Language Processors and their Families

I have always worked with emergent talkers and when I found the NLA approach, I was astonished at how quickly my gestalt-language processing students progressed. I've continued to advance my skills through on-going training including neurodivergent-affirming practices and the Natural Language Approach (NLA) pioneered by the work of Dr. Barry Prezant and Marge Blanc and shared through MeaningfulSpeech. I use this approach with clients of all ages who use delayed echolalia to communicate.

Stuttering therapy is a focus as well because of the unique challenges stutterers face.

Stuttering is a life-long speaking condition. Stuttering is not cured in speech therapy. A client learns the tools to improve how their stuttering affects their lives. The emotional effect of stuttering on communication tasks is another factor addressed in speech therapy. Stuttering therapy is personalized to the goals of the client.

Struggling Readers and their families

With over 10 years as a school-based SLP, I've seen my capable students struggle with this necessary academic skill. Reading touches every subject in school. Reading is also embedded in the technology they use with friends and in their free time. Over a lifetime, poor reading can limit access to vocabulary, employment, and so much more.

I can help!

SLPs are uniquely qualified to support struggling readers.

I am offering a Virtual Summer Intensive.

(Summer 2026)

All areas of my practice require close collaboration with the client and family, and a little detective work to ensure the program is tailored to the client and functional for them across settings.

Speech therapy should include parents and other members of the client's community.

As an experienced speech therapist, I combine evidence-based practices and skilled clinical services. I enjoy working with children, teenagers, adults, and their families.

Each client is unique and communication priorities vary, so it is critical that we work together so that  the interests and needs of the client and family can be reflected in the process and experience of therapy.

My focus is you.
